Full English Breakfast Recipe
A Full English Breakfast is a hearty and traditional meal that includes a variety of components. Here’s a classic recipe for making a Full English Breakfast:
Ingredients:
- Bacon: 4-6 rashers
- Sausages: 2-4 sausages
- Black Pudding: 2-4 slices (optional)
- Tomatoes: 2 medium (halved)
- Mushrooms: 200g (sliced)
- Baked Beans: 1 can
- Eggs: 2-4 (fried, poached, or scrambled)
- Bread: 2-4 slices (for toast)
- Butter: For spreading on toast
- Salt and Pepper: To taste
- Oil or Butter: For frying
- Tea or Coffee: To serve
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F) to keep cooked items warm as you prepare the rest of the breakfast.
Cook the Meat:
- In a large frying pan over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and keep warm in the oven.
- In the same pan, cook the sausages until browned and cooked through. Remove and keep warm.
- If using black pudding, add the slices to the pan and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and keep warm.
Cook the Vegetables:
- Add a little oil or butter to the pan if needed. Place the tomato halves in the pan, cut side down, and cook for a few minutes until softened. Remove and keep warm.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan and cook until browned and tender. Season with a little salt and pepper. Remove and keep warm.
Heat the Baked Beans:
- In a small saucepan, heat the baked beans over low to medium heat until hot. Keep warm.
Cook the Eggs:
- In the same frying pan, add a bit more oil or butter if necessary. Fry the eggs to your liking (sunny side up, over easy, etc.). Alternatively, you can poach or scramble the eggs.
Toast the Bread:
- Toast the slices of bread and spread with butter.
Assemble the Breakfast:
- On each plate, arrange the bacon, sausages, black pudding (if using), cooked tomatoes, mushrooms, and baked beans.
- Add the fried eggs and toast.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serving:
- Serve the Full English Breakfast with a hot cup of tea or coffee.
- You can also add extras like hash browns or fried potatoes, grilled kippers, or a portion of bubble and squeak (fried leftover vegetables).
Enjoy your hearty and delicious Full English Breakfast!
